How does Sky+ work?

Sky+ uses a hard disk to record each programme and repeats them at the same level of quality as live viewing. With two digital tuners instead of one, you can record one digital satellite programme whilst watching another. All features are accessed through the acclaimed Sky Guide, which can even cope with time changes in the programme schedules. In addition to these innovative features, new technology such as the recently launched High Definition will continue to be added as it is developed. Sky+ and Sky HD will transform your TV habits. They offer a new level of choice and control giving you, the viewer more power than ever to choose what they want to watch and when they want to watch it.

Record without video tapes.

Sky+ and Sky HD record without the need for video tape, recording between 40 and 80 hours of digital quality recordings. Single button recording means you no longer need to scramble for a blank tape or remember how to set the timer. Its easy to find the start of each pre-recorded programme and there’s no need to rewind or fast forward videotapes. You can also play back a recorded programme while you record something else.

Record one programme while watching another.

Your kids want to watch a cartoon, but it clashes with a programme you have been looking forward to watching. Now the children can see their cartoon and you can watch yours later, when they’ve gone to bed.

Your watching a football match on Sky Sports when the phone rings. Don’t worry, just press pause and pick up the action when you are ready. Sky+ and sky HD automatically freeze on screen action for the remaining duration of the programme whether it’s two minutes or two hours.
